Muse of Art

The Good Magician HumpreyMuse of Art allows you to view some explosive eras in history through the eyes of three women: Avalanche, the beauty skilled in the arts of love; Melee, the noble-woman who molds men to her will; and Talena, the lovely weaver of tales who embodies Eve, the mother of the human race.

The following is quoted from a letter I received from Piers Anthony dated DisMember 22, 1998:

"The 4th novel in the Geodyssey series is Muse of Art, following Isle of Women, Shame of Man, and Hope of Earth. Muse has a more restricted time scale of about half a million years, and explores ancient Egypt, the Olmecs of central American, the real nature of Attila the Hun, the conquest of Italy by the Napoleonic forces, the meaning of a sea-going clock, the siege of Stalingrad in World War Two, and the near future World war Three. In the process it contains what is the most sustained seduction scene I have written, and the Stalingrad chapter is a short novel in itself, 50,000 words, as this was probably the turning point of the war. This will be published by TOR in hardcover Mayhem, 1999. I am not sure whether I will complete the next, Climate of Change, as the series has not done well enough to justify the time and expense in writing it."
