Of course Piers Anthony is a pseudonym to begin with. Piers' real name is Piers Anthony Dillingham Jacob.

There were only two short stories written under a name other than Piers Anthony. No novel was even published under any name except Piers Anthony, however, Pornucopia did come close to having a different author name.

Piers wrote the novel 3.97 Erect under the author name Tony Pedro, however it was never published. Later, Black Sheep Books was going to publish it as Pornucopia under the author name Anton Perez. This edition was never published either. Finally, Tafford Publishing did publish Pornucopia, but used the name Piers Anthony.

The short stories that appeared under a different name came about as a special case. In Fifty Extremely SF* Stories, edited by Michael Bastraw, Niekas, 1982, Piers was contracted to write three very short stories (50 words or less per story). Since all three were to appear in the same book, it was decided to make it look like they were from different people. Piers wrote them as:

• To The Death by Piers Anthony
• Transmogrification by Pier Xanthony
• Deadline by Piers A. Jacob

So even the two different names were not too different. I particularly like the Xanthony one. Quite a pun. All three of these stories were reprinted in Piers' book (of short stories) Alien Plot.
